What is involved in transferring a domain to JaguarPC? Print

In order to transfer a domain name from one registrar to another you need to follow the transfer procedures of the gaining registrar (the registrar that you are transferring to).

You should be required by the gaining registrar to verify the request to ensure it's legitimacy. Once the transfer request has been verified, the gaining registrar will submit the transfer request to Verisign Global Registry. when the transfer request has been submitted to Verisign, the current registrar for the name will receive notification of the request. The Global Registry will allow the current registrar up to 5 business days in which to approve or decline the transfer request. You may or may not receive verification material from the current registrar.

Each registrar has their own policies concerning transfers away to another registrar. It is a good idea to contact your current registrar in order to make yourself familiar with their policies and avoid potential delays. Some registrars have names locked against transfers which must be removed before a request can be submitted and some may send a verification email to the registered admin email address as seen in the domain's whois information to verify the transfer away.

To transfer a domain to JaguarPC you need to contact your current domain registrar and perform the following steps:

Unlock the domain.  (Domain locks are a security procedure to ensure a person cannot easily initiate a transfer on your domain name.)
Obtain the EPP Transfer Key.  (EPP Transfer keys are codes which are required to authorize the transfer.  Without the key the transfer will almost always fail.)

Contact our team with the transfer key and we can initate the transfer for you.

Please note that .UK domains don't use authorization codes or registrar locks.

- Transferring .UK domains into our system is a two step process. Please do the following:

- Contact the current registrar and request that they change the IPS TAG on your domain to ENOM.
Follow the instructions in the article, How to initiate an INCOMING domain transfer, starting with the section, "Submit the Incoming Transfer Order through Your Account with Us." Choose the Auto-Verification method.
